The SIS Sports Association (SA) would like to welcome all new & returning students to an exciting school year at SIS. We look forward to a fun, engaging and character building athletic year with you. The SA is a non-profit organisation affiliated with Stockholm International School, composed of SIS students, parents and faculty, who offer before and after school sporting clubs to the students of SIS.
Currently we offer Soccer, Basketball & Innebandy (Floorball) to Grades 6 and above – any level of experience welcome. Pending interest, we will also form a Cross Country Team. These teams will play various matches against local schools, and we also participate in a number of International Tournaments throughout the year, including the main sporting tournament of the school year, the Nordic Network Sports Tournament (NNST), which is usually held in May.
The well-known and very successful AIK Soccer Club coaches our soccer program. We have a Senior Boys & Senior Girls Team (Grades 9 - 12) & a Junior Boys & Junior Girls Team (Grades 6 - 8). Autumn Season runs from August to October, and the Spring Season runs from April - June
Innebandy (Floorball) Club
In Spring 2018, for the first time, we are offering our students the chance to join an Innebandy (Floorball) Club. You will join either the Senior Mixed Team (Grades 9 - 12) or the Junior Mixed Team (Grades 6 - 8). This fun sport is easy to learn and great to play. One of our own SIS PHE teachers will be coaching the Innebandy teams, with a view to prepare them for the main sporting tournament of the school year - the Nordic Network Sports Tournament. The season starts in January and runs right through until May.
The well-known and very successful AIK Basket Club coaches our basketball program. We have a Senior Boys, Senior Girls, Junior Boys & pending interest, a Junior Girls team. The Autumn Season runs from October to December & the Spring Season runs from January to March.
Cross Country Running
At the NNST we also compete in Cross Country Running where we have performed exceptionally well in past years. Pending interest and a few volunteer parents, we will form a team late in Spring, who will practise together in preparation for this tournament.
