At SIS we have two Library Media Centers located in the Main Building on the first floor and in Annexe B in Room A10. Each of these locations contain library books and resources as well as access to digital resources such as World Book and J Stor. The media centers also contain "Tech Bars" where Teachers, Students and Parents can get assistance with their computers and online media resources.
Our LMC services and resources:
It is said that a Library is the heart of any educational establishment. The Library is the major provider of high quality information resources. But how does one find one's way through that jungle of information? How does one use these resources? These are the questions that have answers. We see our school's library as a place where students learn and develop information seeking strategies.
Library Open hours: 8:00 - 17:00 on full school days. 8:00 - 12:45 on half days.
In each of our Library Media Centers, we have a "TechBar" which is our center to assist with the support and integration of technology in the school. The Tech Bars are open every day to help Teachers, Students and Parents with their use of Technology at SIS. You may visit our IT Office Webpage for more information about our TechBars and some IT Tips. Tech Bar are open everyday Main Building 9:30-11:30 and Annexe B 13:00-15:00.
This year we have purchased a new Library and Resource Management system that helps us manage all of our books and resources in the LMC. This system is called Destiny and can also support online resources such as eBooks that we hope to some introduce to SIS. Teachers, Students and Parents can search all of the resources available in our LMC with a Destiny search. Destiny Search
